Cheers to the return of a truly tasty event

5 May, 2022

RAA Travel celebrated the return of the iconic Tasting Australia event by hosting a party to thank our valued partners last night.

Guests enjoyed the best views of Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga along with delicious local produce prepared by renowned chefs – washed down with the finest South Australian wines – to toast the return of this wonderful event to Adelaide for 2022.

RAA Travel General Manager Gina Norman welcomed the guests and expressed how thrilled we were to be involved again in the event.

“It is our pleasure to have you here and we are grateful for you longstanding commitment and support to this state, this event and RAA Travel,’’ she said to the more than seventy-five strong gathering.

“We are thrilled to be involved with this world-class event again this year, showcasing the best culinary experiences and expertise our great state has to offer.’’

As one of the state’s longest running travel agencies, Ms Norman said RAA Travel knew there was no time like the present to be encouraging more South Australians to explore their own backyard.

“In what’s been another challenging 12 months for our state, one thing that can’t be doubted is the resilience and positivity of the people that make up our tourism and hospitality sectors,’’ she said.

“The tourism sector is critical when it comes to our state’s economy in terms of both driving economic prosperity and employment opportunities.’’

She said Tasting Australia played a crucial role in both promoting Adelaide and our wonderful regions.

“I’ve already had the opportunity to enjoy some of the experiences the event has to offer, and I can’t wait to enjoy many more in the coming days,’’ she said.

Among last night’s attendees were Chief Executive of SA Tourism Commission Rodney Harrex, CEO of the Tourism Industry Council of South Australia Shaun De Bruyn, Nine News presenter Will McDonald, Sunday Mail editor Paul Ashenden, Channel 7 Discover host Elspeth Hussey, and our own President Peter Siebels and Managing Director Ian Stone.
