With school holidays beginning next week, many South Aussies might be considering a getaway, and there is still plenty of options with availability according to RAA Travel.
RAA Travel General Manager Gina Norman said, because SA’s school holiday period starts halfway through most other states’, an interstate holiday in the second week would mean less crows and more accommodation options.
“The lines will be shorter and there will be more accessibility for South Australians to enjoy in that second week,” Gina said.
Gina also said, as we head towards winter, a trip towards tropical weather was proving popular among South Aussies.
“It’s been a little bit cooler recently so lots of families are wanting to head north and enjoy the warmth. There is still great availability in Queensland and in Darwin for the next few weeks.
“Darwin is really beautiful this time of year and brilliant value. It’s a unique destination that all South Australians should experience.”
“You can also still snap up fairly affordable return flights to the Gold Coast or Cairns.”
For those looking to holiday within SA, Gina said there is still availability many regional locations across the state.
“We’d love for people to get out to the Riverland, but there’s also the Eyre Peninsula, Flinders Ranges and Barossa regional which still have great availability.
“For RAA members, they also get a discount on many activities in South Australia, such as the Zoos and Tree Climb, so there are still plenty of things to do, even if you’ve left it a little later than normal these school holidays.”
