After 17 years, former RAA President and Chair Peter Siebels will retire from the RAA Board.
Current RAA President and Chair Kathy Gramp thanked Mr Siebels for his significant contribution to RAA and the instrumental role he played in shaping the future of the organisation.
“Peter has been a tireless advocate for RAA’s 830,000+ members,” Ms Gramp said.
“He helped guide RAA through a period of immense change, including a new partnership between RAA Insurance and global firm Allianz, and shaping our future products and services for years to come.
“Peter began the journey to modernise RAA’s governance, including our move to a Company Limited by Guarantee which comes into effect later this year. These changes have been crucial in securing a stronger future for RAA.
“He has always been passionate about bringing RAA’s values to life – as the largest mutual (membership) organisation in the State – to create lasting positive social impact, particularly in the areas of inclusion, diversity and reconciliation.”
The RAA Board has appointed experienced director and senior executive Christine Zeitz to fill the casual vacancy created by Mr Siebels’ retirement. She will serve the remainder of his term as Director and will be eligible for election by member vote at the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
“We’re thrilled to have Christine join us at such a crucial time for RAA,” Ms Gramp said.
“She brings a wealth of senior experience in commercial and finance, corporate governance, strategic partnering, digital technology and business transformation to the RAA Board at a critically important period.
In an international career over more than 35 years, Ms Zeitz has worked in senior executive and non-executive roles at the cutting edge of technology and transformation.
She was formerly Chief Executive of Northrop Grumman Australia and Leidos Australia, Vice President and Managing Director – Lockheed Martin Australia, and President – North East Asia, BAE Systems.
Her current non-executive roles include Chair of Defence Trailblazer, Deputy Chair of the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), and a Director of Nova Systems, having previously held roles as a Director on the Port Adelaide Football Club Board, Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), Centre for Defence Industry Capability and the Adelaide Festival Centre.
In other changes, Dr Stephen Holmes has resigned from the RAA Board.
“Stephen was appointed in 2021 and was a strong advocate for road safety and community issues. We thank him for his service to RAA and commitment to our members,” Ms Gramp said.
With eight current directors (six Member Elected, two Board Appointed), the RAA Board fulfils its minimum Directorship requirements and will not seek to replace Dr Holmes in the immediate future.
