Unleaded prices in metro Adelaide are in the mid-$1.50s per litre at many outlets as of Wednesday morning and diesel is also below $1.70 at some outlets in northern Adelaide, meaning there is plenty of value on offer for drivers looking to fill the tank.
ULP prices are as low as $1.48 per litre in the northern suburbs.
Filling up now rather than when prices are likely to spike over the coming weeks, could save motorists more than $20 on their tank.
Adelaide’s current wholesale terminal gate price is $1.54 per litre – the cheapest it has been since May 2025.
RAA fuel expert Peter Nattrass said drivers could use the RAA app to find the cheapest fuel in their area.
“There are bargains to be had in metro Adelaide when it comes to fuel right now,” Mr Nattrass said.
“Adelaide’s 2-3 week unleaded price cycle is around the bottom, so if you see cheap fuel near you, pull in and make a saving before prices rise.
“The wholesale price is as low as it’s been for a long time so hopefully we’ll see some cheaper prices in the coming weeks.
“Diesel is also selling for less than $1.70 at many outlets in northern Adelaide, although it doesn’t follow the same regular cycle as unleaded.
“Use the free RAA app to shop around and make sure you don’t overpay for your fuel.”
RAA members can also now save 10c per litre at more than 46 outlets across metropolitan and regional South Australia. A full list of retailers, and terms and conditions, is on RAA’s website.
Motorists can compare fuel prices using the RAA app or website.
