South Australians have saved almost half a million dollars while eating out in the past year thanks to RAA’s member dining deals, which have also generated more than $2 million in sales for hospitality businesses.
RAA’s dining deals were launched in early 2024 as part of the RAA Rewards program, to help members save at their favourite restaurants and encourage them to support venues in person – rather than via a delivery service.
In its first 12 months, the program has delivered $488,912 in savings for RAA members across almost 30,000 covers – through add-ons like complimentary drinks, tastings or meal upgrades.
The program has also helped hospitality businesses generate at least $2,142,647 in revenue thanks to bookings made using the RAA member offer.
Further, the program has brought new customers in the door at a challenging time for many venues – 77% of bookings have been first-time visitors to restaurant partners.
Of the more than 100 offers available with 80 restaurants, the most popular have been those with Fino Vino (complimentary upgrade to 5-course tasting menu), The Currant Shed (complimentary third course and wine tasting) and Maxwell Wines (complimentary wine tasting).
All 830,000+ RAA members have access to the RAA Rewards dining deals at cafes, pubs and restaurants across both metropolitan and regional SA. They can be found on the RAA app or website.
RAA Chief Marketing Officer Michael Healy said members and venues alike had embraced the program.
“We’ve been thrilled with the take-up of our dining deals as part of RAA Rewards, with members saving almost half a million dollars in the past year,” Mr Healy said.
“We launched the program because we know how much our RAA members love eating out with friends and family, but that discretionary spend is getting a bit more challenging.
“With so many world-class food and wine experiences right here in SA, and a lot of employment in the hospitality sector, we think it’s important to do what we can to help both our members and the venues they love.
“We now have more than 100 offers available across the state – up from 30 when we launched – and around 40% of these are at regional locations.”
Co-owner of Fino Vino and Fino Seppeltsfield Sharon Romeo said the partnership with RAA had helped bring more patrons to the venue.
“We’ve all felt the impact of household budgets becoming tighter over the past few years, so anything we can do to encourage customers to come in and fill our venues is welcomed,” Ms Romeo said.
“The RAA offer has been a win-win for both of us – it helps us promote our venue to their massive membership base, in return for offering members a complimentary upgrade when they come in to visit us.”
South Australians can view the range of dining deals as part of the RAA Rewards program via the RAA app or RAA website.
