As the 2026-27 Little Athletics season kicks off, the two iconic organisations have announced a new partnership aimed at helping athletes and volunteers get more out of the sport, safely.
The three-year partnership is made possible through RAA’s $5 million Community Impact Fund which supports a range of community organisations and initiatives across South Australia, with road safety at the forefront.
General Manager Community and Corporate affairs Emily Perry said RAA was thrilled to support Little Athletics SA’s great work across the state, keeping children active and connecting communities.

“With our focus of supporting causes that make a difference in South Australia, we love Little Athletics’ mission to build strong, resilient communities from the ground up – through fun, fitness and family,” Ms Perry said.
“Central to the partnership is the new ‘Drive Safe, Arrive Safe’ program, timed with the Little Athletics State Titles in March next year.
“Little Athletics’ families are some of the biggest road trippers in the state – from early weekend starts to regional and metro carnivals – and we want to make sure every one of those trips ends safely.
“We’re also very excited to see the RAA Regional Club Support Fund open in October 2026, offering small grants to help country-based Little Athletics clubs’ thrive and grow in their communities.”
Little Athletics SA Chief Executive Officer Steve Baldas said the partnership brought together two trusted South Australian organisations with a shared commitment to supporting families and strengthening communities.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with RAA, an organisation that shares our commitment to making a positive and lasting difference across South Australia,” Mr Baldas said.
“Our families travel thousands of kilometres each season to attend training, competitions and carnivals, so road safety is a natural and important focus for this partnership.
“RAA’s support will also help reduce barriers to participation, strengthen our regional Centres and create more opportunities for young people to become active, confident and connected.
“Importantly, this partnership extends well beyond the track, supporting our work in early childhood physical literacy, youth leadership and inclusion, and helping us deliver programs that benefit children, families and communities across the state.”
The partnership will also deliver:
RAA will also support Little Athletics’ existing programs across youth leadership and employability, early childhood physical literacy, and inclusion.
