Record year for members as RAA builds launchpad for the future

12 October, 2026

RAA delivered record value to members and the community in the 2026 financial year, while laying the foundations for future growth with major investment in technology.

The annual report from the State’s largest membership organisation showed RAA delivered a record $55.4 million in member loyalty savings and discounts, as well as:

  • Grew to more than 841,000 members,
  • Helped protect 636,000 cars and home,
  • Attended more than 354,900 roadside breakdowns,
  • Booked more than 45,900 holidays through RAA Travel, and,
  • Launched the $5 million Community Impact Fund.

RAA’s overall financial result, a loss of $18.9 million, reflects a substantial, multi-year investment in a new technology platform to support new products and services for members.

The organisation’s core businesses continue to perform well, and the recapitalised balance sheet creates more opportunities to grow and give back to members.

Chief Executive Officer Nick Reade said RAA was proud to have supported members and the community through the last financial year, helping the State navigate the fuel crisis, giving more back to members and creating a new community impact fund.

“This year has been about building the launchpad – investing in our technology and reshaping our organisation – so we’re ready to take off for the years ahead,” Mr Reade said.

“We have derisked RAA, rebuilt our balance sheet and restructured our operations to support a new operating model.

“This puts us in a strong position to deliver more for members through new investments, products and services, partnerships and digital experiences.

“It’s an exciting time for RAA as we explore new opportunities for members and ways to have a positive impact in South Australian communities.

“We look forward to sharing updates in the coming months and hearing from our members at our Annual General Meeting in November.”

Mr Reade said RAA’s core services continued to perform well in the face of cost-of-living pressure and global conflict, playing an important role in keeping people safe and secure at home, on the road and giving people the confidence to keep travelling.

“As a mutual, we exist to serve and return value to members. One of the important ways we do this is through our growing RAA Rewards partner program.

“The program continues to grow, meaning members can flash their RAA card or scan their phone to save on everyday items from groceries to school holiday activities.

“One of the most important elements of the program is the fuel discount which launched in November last year. The leading 10c discount has been a gamechanger for members, coming at a critical time with the conflict in the Middle East driving up prices, disrupting supply chains and threatening availability around the State.”

RAA also undertook extensive consultation with members and communities to guide our investment in community programs and partnerships.

“Our members believe in the mutual principle of giving back and role RAA can play in road and community safety more broadly,” Mr Reade said.

“In the last financial year we used our member feedback to shape our new $5 million Community Impact Fund, throwing our support behind more iconic community groups and organisations like the CFS Foundation, Royal Doctors Flying Service and Catherine House.”
