Various road closures will be in place from this Friday as the Tour Down Under officially kicks into gear,
with RAA encouraging all road users to check when routes near them will be affected.
The Tour Down Under Women’s and Men’s stages will take place across Adelaide and South Australia from the 17-26 January – with a range of restrictions and rolling road closures in place most days to make way for the race.
The first Women’s stage is being held on Friday between Brighton and Aldinga, and there will be rolling road closures in place along the route via Old Noarlunga, Myponga, Yankalilla and Normanville.
RAA’s Senior Traffic Engineer Matt Vertudaches is urging motorists to check the full list of road closures on the Tour Down Under website and plan their journeys accordingly.
“The Tour Down Under will see stages held across South Australia over the next 10 days – from the city to the Adelaide Hills, Barossa and Fleurieu,” Mr Vertudaches said.
“Different road closures will be in place each day so drivers are advised to have a look at the daily closures on the Tour Down Under website to avoid being caught out.
“Roads in Adelaide’s east end will have closures or speed restrictions in place this weekend – 17-19 January – including Rundle Road and Dequetteville Terrace.
“Be aware that there will also be an increase in cyclists and spectators along these routes when the stages take place, so be on the look-out and drive to the conditions, adhering to road closures and speed restrictions.”
The daily road closures for each race will be located in the below areas. Full details are available on the Tour Down Under website.
