RAA has launched a fun, interactive game to entertain kids while RAA Patrols work on RAA members’ vehicles – creating engaging content for all lovers of Trev.
The game involves Trev wielding the scissors in a barber shop – and winging it as best as he can.
RAA Chief Marketing Officer Michael Healy said the new app was designed to help members and entertain kids while our patrols and tow trucks came to their aid.
“The app is so fun and engaging, we think kids will be playing it even when they’re not stuck on the side of the road,” Mr Healy said.
“RAA has over 830,000 members and we attend almost 1,000 callouts per day.
“Many of those call outs involve families with young children who can get quite bored while they wait for us to get them moving again.
“So, we thought it would be a great idea to develop a game to keep them occupied and during the short wait for our Patrols or Tow Truck drivers.
“This app features some uniquely South Australian designs based on our great state – from Glenelg’s foreshore to Adelaide’s iconic tram.”
RAA joined forces with South Australian developers KWP+Partners to launch Trev’s Buzz Cuts – the new app available on Apple and Android.
“Trev’s Buzz Cuts is intrinsically South Australian – with the build and musical composition all created by local talent,” Mr Healy said.
“The developers – KWP+Partners – are a South Australian company and the music was composed in-house by their team.”
Trev’s Buzz Cuts has been a year in the making – admittedly a lot of that pondering whether to make the game – RAA’s Marketing Team started with some initial ideation, before the designs and app build began from September 2024 through to March 2025.
KWP+Partners Development Lead David Merenda said making something just for the Trev fans let the team play with his wit and character.
“During the design phase we played a lot with where Buzz Cuts might be located in SA. Was Trev going to do a tour of the state and visit everything SA has to offer?” Mr Merenda said.
“In the end we settled on a single hopefully immediately identifiable location even with some liberties throw in.
“The team and I are excited for the future of Trev and Buzz Cuts as there’s so much we want to add and so many great South Australian throwbacks we’d love to include.”
