Illuminate Adelaide has wowed South Australians and visitors to our State once again, bringing together the very best in innovative technology, music and light.
It’s an event RAA has been proud to sponsor since its inception in 2021.
This year RAA successfully powered the magnificent ‘Trumpet Flowers’, one of the free City Lights installations situated in heart of Adelaide’s Rundle Mall.
The spectacular interactive flower exhibit – masterfully created by renowned Australian-based artists Amigo & Amigo – provided visitors with an immersive experience, surrounded by a symphony of brilliant lights, vibrant colours and harmonious melodies.
The event invites people into the city at a time when it’s easy to stay rugged up indoors and does so with a minimal carbon footprint.
Illuminate Adelaide’s Co-Founder and Director, Rachael Azzopardi said, “We look for sustainability options and connections in everything we do at Illuminate Adelaide.”
All the installations use renewable energy through a combination of City of Adelaide’s Carbon Neutral Adelaide program and local carbon offset schemes.
Illuminate Adelaide is also committed to waste-free initiatives at its bars and outdoor events, as well as using paperless tickets to ensure the environmental impact is as small as possible.
RAA CEO Nick Reade said, “As South Australia’s largest member organisation with a 120-year motoring history, Illuminate Adelaide’s ability to innovate sustainably is not lost on us.”
“The rise of electric vehicles and renewable energy is driving innovation at RAA, expanding our core business in motor, home and travel, to include future mobility and the electrification of homes and transport.
“Our solar caravan showcases this innovation, by powering Trumpet Flowers, one of Illuminate Adelaide’s must see exhibits this year,” he said.
Taking place from 28 June – 30 July, Illuminate Adelaide boasts immersive experiences, world premieres and Adelaide exclusives in a range of ticketed and free events across the city.
