Uncertainty, inconvenience, professionalism and price – these are the four main concerns householders have when hiring a tradesperson, according to RAA research.
Now an extra 77,000 plus RAA members can have peace of mind when seeking help around the home with the expansion of our popular Trade Assist service.
The service – which provides fully licenced and experienced tradies – has this year expanded from metropolitan Adelaide to now include the Adelaide Hills (22,084 RAA members), Fleurieu Peninsula (32,214) and Barossa Valley (23,286).
This move is part of RAA’s plans to further expand the Trade Assist service to members in other regional locations.
Just like road service for your car, Trade Assist is available when your home breaks down too, RAA Senior Manager Market Development Ben Halman said.
“Prior to launching Trade Assist, our research revealed that our members had four main concerns when hiring a tradesperson – uncertainty, inconvenience, professionalism and price,’’ he said.
“We’ve been able to solve all of these concerns by taking the uncertainty out of the process, ensuring the price is transparent and by working with a group of tradespeople who have been specially chosen to offer this service. There is also 12 month warranty on workmanship.’’
More than 6000 call outs have been made to Trade Assist since it was first offered in Adelaide from July 2017. The top five call outs in that time have been electrical, plumbing, roofing repairs, general maintenance and solar panel cleaning.
Whether it’s a fresh coat of paint or a leaky tap,
RAA Trade Assist will allow members to nominate a time and date for work to be completed.
Prices are transparent and negotiated prior to each job beginning, meaning no hidden costs after the work is done.
“Residents want a reliable tradesperson that will turn up at the agreed time, and provide an upfront price – no hidden costs,’’ Mr Halman said.
“We’ve partnered with experienced and professional tradespeople right across the state, and we believe we can deliver on that promise.’’
Among the other services offered by Trade Assist are carpentry, painting and plastering, tiling and grouting, and gutter cleaning.
