Tonight the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) recognised RAA Travel as a finalist in the “Most Outstanding Travel Agency Group” in Australia in the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) category.
RAA Travel and Distribution General Manager Gina Norman said the win reflected RAA Travel’s ongoing commitment to providing travellers with the best experience possible.
“Being recognised by NTIA is an honour and a testament to the incredible team of travel agents and support staff that always go that extra mile so our clients can enjoy the trip they have been dreaming of,” she said.
NTIA recognises and rewards excellence in the Australian travel industry, through a process which includes nominating, voting and judging candidates, which culminated in the winners being announced at last night’s Gala Awards Dinner.
“Being a finalist in this award category is particularly special for us as a proudly South Australian organisation being recognised against a national field of travel agents,” Ms Norman said.
Although COVID-19 presented significant challenges for the travel sector, pent up demand has seen a surge in travel bookings signalling a bright future for the industry.
One of the things that RAA Travel highlighted as part of the award submission was their commitment to retaining staff through the pandemic.
“Among the first things we did to ensure the longevity of RAA Travel when lockdowns started was to find meaningful work for all our Travel staff, without needing to stand anyone down throughout the COVID-19 restrictions,” Ms Norman said.
“This has meant that with bookings back on the rise, we were able to quickly respond to clients’ needs and continue to provide the reliable and trusted travel expertise that we are known for.”
