Travel savings still on offer despite flight prices

3 November, 2023

With airfares still about 50 per cent up on pre-COVID levels, and households dealing with rising cost-of-living, South Australians are looking for new ways to save money when making travel plans.

RAA Travel General Manager Gina Norman said it was still possible to have a great value holiday, especially if holidaymakers were able to be flexible.

“There are so many specials you can still get for your next holiday as long as you’re willing to be flexible,” Ms Norman said.

“And some of them are over 50% off. So really, you’re saving more than you’re spending.

“One way people are saving is through cruising and an example of that is a a seven-night Mediterranean cruise for just $784 per person, which is less than half the price of a lot of the cruises for the same time.

For land lovers, there’s lots of accommodation specials, like a Thailand getaway to Phuket for seven nights, including a breakfast and transfers for just $535 per person.

“That’s over $700 saving per couple.”

Gina also said Fiji is a great option for South Aussie families looking for a getaway.

“At RAA Travel we have Fiji family packages for just over $2,100 for the family … which is just brilliant value again for a luxury island escape.”

“So if you are looking at travelling, speak to your local travel expert or visit travel.raa.com.au to find an amazing package for your holiday.”
