Australians looking to make travel plans during the next few years are being urged to book well in advance, as pent-up demand puts appointments with travel agents at a premium.
Bookings with RAA Travel during the last three months are up a massive 63 per cent compared to the same time last year. But it’s the value of those bookings – up 163% – that reflects a huge increase in demand for international journeys.
RAA Travel General Manager Gina Norman said people were making up for the last two years of missed travel experiences.
“Our RAA Travel team is thrilled to be back making South Aussies’ travel dreams a reality, but the recent rise in demand means in-person appointments are booking out a week or two in advance, so please book ahead.
“We’ve spent the last few years uplifting the capability of our website for booking experiences – such as launching the ability for members to book domestic and overseas flights and accommodation online – so we urge travellers to book online with us wherever possible.
“If you’re looking to travel to popular international destinations during the next 24 months, please don’t wait to make your booking because flights and hotels continue to fill up fast.”
Ms Norman said the long-awaited return of international trips meant RAA Travel was also on the hunt for experienced travel agents to join their team.
“We don’t think the current demand for travel will be slowing down any time soon, so we encourage any travel agents looking for a new opportunity to get in contact with us about the roles we have on offer.
