The annual RAA Foodbank Food Drive is calling for donations of non-perishable food items and cash donations, which will be used to provide meals for families and individuals across the state.
So far, 30,000 meals have been donated in November. Donations can be made at most RAA Shops, as well as collection dates at major shopping centres where RAA staff volunteers will be on hand to collect donations.
Foodbank’s 2025 Hunger Report, released last month, shows that one third of South Australian households are experiencing food insecurity, with cost of living pressures and housing challenges making it increasingly difficult for families to put food on the table.
RAA General Manager Community and Corporate Affairs, Emily Perry, said the Foodbank Food Drive was an opportunity for RAA to give back to the community.
“In the last five years, the RAA Foodbank Food Drive has collected over 86,000 meals, making a real difference for those who are doing it tough,” Ms Perry said.
“As a South Australian organisation with over 834,000 members, we’re very aware of cost of living pressures affecting the community, so we are proud to work alongside Foodbank to deliver meals to families across the state who need it most.”
“All donations, big or small, make a difference, so if you have the means to help, I encourage you to do so.”
Foodbank SA/NT CEO Greg Pattinson said Foodbank has seen significant growth in the requirement for our food relief services.

In the last 12 months, we have provided food relief to more than 152,000 South Australians every month,” Mr Pattinson said.
“The cost of living crisis has impacted more than 90% of food insecure households. We know that the festive season and school holidays will put additional pressure on already struggling households. These individuals and families turn to Foodbank when they need us the most and we are here to help but we need the communities support to do more”
“The RAA Food Drive is an amazing way that South Australians can get behind Foodbank and donate for families that would otherwise go without. For every $1 donated – it will help to put 2 meals on the table of a struggling family in our community.”
